How To Grow Edible Flower Teacup Garden In The Kitchen

In the middle of a busy day, nothing is better than taking a break from your work to enjoy some tea. But if you want to make this experience even more enjoyable, try growing an edible flower teacup garden in the kitchen!

This method of gardening doesn’t require any dirt or digging and will allow you to grow fresh flowers for decoration throughout the year. To get started, place a glass jar on its side with the opening at the top. Fill it about halfway with water and add soil up to just below where you want your plants to grow. Then simply select one or two plants that are appropriate for indoor planting (such as basil) and poke them into the soil so they stay upright inside their jar home. Water the plants and then place them near a window for bright indirect light.

From here, simply continue to water and feed your plants as usual and they should last indefinitely. The best part about this method of gardening is that you can watch their roots grow throughout the year! You can also remove or add soil as necessary or rotate your jar if it tilts toward the light.

If you don’t have any plants to spare, this same method works for toothpick flowers! Simply create a small flower-like shape with your toothpicks and then use it as a centerpiece or decoration on your table. Make sure to change out the water every few days to keep them fresh.

If you’re simply looking for a unique and stylish decoration, try making your own flower pens or pencil holders out of glass! Both projects use the same idea and can be completed in just a few minutes.

First, attach the flower pen cap to your pen and then cover it with soil up to where you want your plant’s roots to grow. Then, simply poke your toothpick flower into the soil and water as usual. You can use this same method to create a pencil holder by using a slightly larger glass vase or jar and poking the pencils directly into the soil!
